* “Tron” (1982) is a hybrid film like no other. It was a unique film then and now.  It contained ground breaking computer animation and some traditional cel animation.  The “computer world” effects scenes were a mix of live action black-and-white 65mm cinematography, in which human actors were immersed into that environment.  Those scenes were blown-up to Kodalith cels, then hand-painted, one cell at-a-time.  The computer, traditional and Kodalith footage were seemlessly combined for the final print.  For more information, click onto
