SITE UPDATE

construction site

As many readers may have noticed, there have not been a lot of updates to this site. For that I apologize to my loyal readers. The writing and publishing of my new book, "The Making of Tron: How Tron Changed Visual Effects and Disney Forever," took longer than I thought. With publicity and getting word out on the book, it has been difficult to do updates here. In addition, the studios have been cutting back on sending out Blu-ray and DVD copies for review. It has been rather hard to post new material.

To say the least, From Script To DVD has not been updated as much as usual.

But there is good news!

In the next few months, I will be upgrading the site to modern web standards. I will not get into the technical details, but let us just say that the site will look better. For those web techies out there, I originally built the site in Microsoft FrontPage. The result was the creation of a coding nightmare. The site will now be built on a newer and better standard.

Pages will look brighter and easier to read and navigation will be easier. I have added a search bar to the bottom of the page. Eventually every page will have this feature. Colors will be much more pleasing to the eye. Those garish pages that were designed back in 2003 will now be much easier to read. I was new to web design (still am), but I have learned a lot over the years to bring you a more presentable site.

I have also brought back (though they never disappeared) some popular articles that can be easily accessed via "The Backlot" and "The Screening Room" And when time permits, I will introduce new and never-before-seen photographs in the popular photo galleries and "70mm In..." galleries.

This is an exciting project. It will take some time to implement, but I know you will find the site even more enjoyable than ever before.

Thank you very much for your support.
